"As I begin building up a 'Reefscape' I imagine I am rebuilding a coral colony after a violent ocean storm. The powerful waves crash relentlessly into jagged cliffs scouring the cracks, pockets, and pools of the tiny marine organisms. I hold that vacant tide pool on the end of a steel rod as a molten blob of glass, and as I add lively glass colors and sea forms, I imagine the harmonious balance returning; the tide pool is once again replete with life! Glass is special to me. I have found no other medium that gives me the freedom to bring to life even my most fantastic imaginings."
